Over the past few months I have become more and more interested in nutrition, I have realised through trial and error, the link that food has to how well we are able to train and how we feel within ourselves. At the beginning of April I signed up for a year long nutrition course with the Body Type Nutrition Academy.

As a result of this I have been playing around in the kitchen creating ‘clean desserts’. Suzie loves dessert and I’m also partial to something sweet after a meal, this has led to me whipping up some emergency puddings with very limited ingredients.

These ‘emergency puddings’ have then been recreated and brought along to Wonder Woman Workshops and group sessions for everyone to sample, I have received some requests for the recipes so here they are…


Chocolate Oat Bites



Ingredients – serves 4

Gluten free oats

75 grams butter

100 grams 85% dark chocolate

Honey to taste

Vanilla essence to taste

Melt the butter and chocolate in a pan, add the oats (enough to create a mixture that binds), honey and vanilla whilst stirring. Spoon the mixture into bun cases and refrigerate overnight.


Banana and Bacon cake

This recipe was based around Fitter Foods banana and cinnamon loaf and we just pimped it up a little. The link to the recipe for the banana bread is here –

1 tub of full fat cream cheese

1 packet of unsmoked bacon

Once the cake has been allowed to cool, spread the cream cheese on top and place strips of cooked bacon to decorate.

Much much tastier than it sounds!!


Cacao Mug Cake


Ingredients – makes 2 cakes

1 Banana

2 eggs

2 tablespoons honey

2 heaped tablespoons cacao

3 heaped tablespoons ground almonds

1 tea spoon gluten free baking powder

Nut butter to serve (we like hazelnut best)

Combine all the ingredients with a hand blender until smooth, separate contents into 2 mugs, microwave for around 6-8 minutes depending on the power of your microwave.

Serve with nut butter
